Provides pointers from Kiplinger.com on how to select an insurance policy and the various types of policies available.
Utilization Review Accreditation Commission provides accreditation of insurance provider’s utilization review, case management, credentialing, health plans and more.
National Committee for Quality Assurance provides grades for insurance providers’ PPO, HMO and POS plans in addition to grading the providers themselves.
Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations provides accreditation for hospitals, home care, same day surgery facilities, other outpatient facilities (such as GI labs) and more.

The Consumer Action Website from The Federal Citizen Information Center provides a variety of information including links to state-by-state Insurance Regulators, samples of complaint letters, how and where to file complaints, consumer topics and information for specific audiences (military, teachers, persons with disabilities, etc.) A great compilation of information.
